With my first one I switched when she was 6 months old so it is never too late. Check nappy lady for some nice videos about different type of nappy so you can choose what is best for you. Check also if you have a nappy library near you and hire a kit to try.

I have bought Little Lamb, Fiyyah, Bambino Mio and Boots brand but my baby is still below the recommended weight (they say to wait until they are 4.5kg) so only used them an handful of time. I think the best ones to use are these called 'pocket nappies' which are basically one size that grows with the baby and you only need to add boosters depending on how much your baby produces, and use as well a liner should you want to make it easier to clean the poop. It is never to be late to switch to cloth nappies btw :)
