Sadness-Not able to conversate with son

My 3.5 talks in a few sentences but very repetitive memorized speech and doesn’t have expressive language. He’s not conversational. We’re getting him assessed etc. I guess I’m on here to vent that I’m feeling so sad. I want to so badly talk to my son and relate to him more but not able to :(
