posterior tongue tie

Has you baby had it and it was released? My baby is 4 weeks old and was diagnosed with posterior tongue tie, we struggle with bf but all midwifes don’t see any problem and keep refusing the treatment, and I think I need to go private to sort it out as I don’t know what else I can do…

My baby had a tongue tie. I noticed at 12 weeks. I just rang HV explained I had a lot of pain whilst feeding. He was getting tired during feeds and not finishing. Really gassy because of his latch and they just booked me in with ENT specialists didn't even ask to see him first

I had my son's done privately (was £200) and worth it- latch and feeding improved almost immediately.

We went the private route to have it revised. She still can’t latch well but it was 100% worth it. I have a posterior tongue tie myself and wish that they would have revised mine as a baby!

I see I’m not the only one struggling with NHS doing this procedure, I have one more app with NHS but I’m sure I’ll not be referred to the clinic to fix it so I’ll look for a private one. I still hope to see your happy end of Nhs process it.

Is that a normal midwife or a lactation consultant/ ATP or infant feeding team member? As if not any of the latter ask to be referred! We got nowhere with every person and their dog saying ‘oh shes fine just need to work on the latch’ and even a misdiagnosis of thrush before we got to the infant feeding team who diagnosed and released the tongue tie - you know what your baby needs on instinct better than anyone else, keep persevering
