Harris Birthright scans - did you need a full bladder??

Hi all! Those who had 12 week scans at the Harris Birthright Centre- did you need a full bladder? Website and documentation says I don't need one, but experience from others who have been says they needed one for their 12 week scans. So I'm a bit confused! Any other feedback about your scan experience at this centre is also welcome 😊

Yep I did. They wanted to do an internal bit at the end so asked me to empty my bladder then. I didn’t enjoy my 12 week scan at Harris tbh. I found it was more about them and their genetic research than about me and my baby. But they took so much time and care over my 20 week scan it was much better.

You definitely need one for the 12 week scan

Half full for the 20 week is good enough

Yeah I did but I had an internal one at 12 weeks so I had to empty my bladder a little. X

I didn’t need one but I think they recommend it for a clearer view x

Thank you all for your replies ❤️ I had a full bladder to be on the safe side! X

No I hade more than 10 scans at Harris never on full bladder!

No indidnt need one for my 12 week scan. If they need to do an internal they will get you to empty your bladder of any urine but I wasn't made to drink before hand.

I’ve had all my scans at Harris birth. And never needed to have a half/ full bladder. At least I was never told to have one.

I've had over 15 scans there (across 2 pregnancies) and never needed a full bladder. All my letters said it wasn't required.
