Who to contact first (not pregnant yet)
Hi all, been TTC for 3 months now and I have epilepsy. I just had one quick question as the epilepsy nurse had told me to contact them when I find out I'm pregnant. Do I contact them first or should I still contact a midwife for an appointment first?

Stupid question( 😂) Im from Australia, so how did you go about getting a epilepsy nurse ? What is there role ..... I only had/ have a neuroligist
Hi! I was told to contact neurology as soon as I found out. I called the same day as I spoke to my GP. I’m sure every service will be different but here in Newcastle I’m going to the pregnancy epilepsy clinic around 12 weeks. You see an epilepsy obstetrician and an epilepsy nurse! They’ve also said my care will be taken over by that team until I give birth then I’ll go back to my own neurologist ☺️

I'm 11wks along. I contacted my neurologist and OB doctor same day. My OB doctor ordered blood work to check my Tegretol/Keppra levels. Within about 2wks I was in to see my Neuro but he said only see him one other time during pregnancy since ill be under the good care of my OB. I decreased my 2 meds by my own choice and seizures are fully under control😊
