Rolling

When do babies begin to roll and are you supposed to show / help them? Or do they somehow learn themselves. Just wondering as I’ve seen people say their babies are trying to roll but mine hasn’t at all.

My daughter fully rolled 8weeks she's now 11 but my son who's 12weeks rolled first from front to back yesterday no attempt back to belly. Each baby is different I believe they say average baby rolls round 4/5months some sooner some later :)

@Kelly did you show how to roll or help in any way? Or have they just managed to find out for themselves? I’m not sure if I need to be helping in any way

My little boy who’s 10 weeks hasn’t rolled yet - I assist a couple times a day but he’s not actively trying yet xx

There are some ways to help them figure out the motion, but they also kinda grasp it developmentally too if you know what I mean. A lot of little signs like kicking their legs more up than before from kicking out. Something simple like when you pick them up and put them down, to lay on their side then roll them back to their back can be super helpful but ultimately they won't do it till they feel ready so try not to worry 🥰 xx

I used help my son from belly to back more like show them by assisting then it was yesterday he did it by himself x

3 months 3 weeks independently rolled over

I never helped my daughter I just let her figure it out on her own when she was ready. I’ll do the same for my boy this time. Tummy time and play time on play mats give them strength and time to learn/practice
