Frustration with nighttime routine

My 2.5 year old gets so wild at night, during bath and bed, and doesn’t listen to me and I get so incredibly frustrated. I repeat myself over and over and over and she doesn’t listen and so I end up doing things for her (for example, hanging her towel up) and then she cries. I say “you’re not listening so I had to do it for you.” I know this isn’t a great thing to say, and I know I’m not handling the situation well, but I don’t know what else to say or do. How do I have a better bath and bedtime with her?

This is getting tougher and tougher for me too, my son is all about delaying. One thing that helps it getting the timing right, not letting him get overtired cause then he gets extra wild. But really I just now expect this to take an hour, and there are tears sometimes when we have to push ahead to the next step, but like you said you explain you have to do it. I try to also focus on getting to parts of the routine he likes, “let’s get your pajamas on so we can read stories” etc.
