@Sangeeta thank you!! , does it hurt getting your cervix checked ??
@Jayla no you should be ok
Hi Jayla! Congrats on your pregnancy. So there are multiple causes both known and sometimes unknown for IC but it can run in families so if you can get your dr to give you biweekly ultrasounds in your second trimester this is your best bet for catching any changes as early as possible. Just because your mom had it doesn’t mean you will but it also does increase your chances so good idea to keep an eye on it. Wishing you a safe pregnancy and hope it all goes smoothly.
@Victoria thank you!!! And okay, will do!! Thank you so much!
@Lacey this is my first pregnancy i have never experienced miscarriages my mother has
Yes it can be hereditary. It has some strong ties to Ehlers danlos syndrome
Hey Jayla, congratulations on your pregnancy. I would say just ask your OB to check cervix from 16 weeks to 24 weeks. In my family no one had IC but I had so not sure if it is hereditary or not. But just try to be proactive and get checked in advance.
