I was told nothing with any fragrance but I had the most natural nail varnish I can buy on my toenails and they didn’t ask about it, I was just told to behave as if I was already pregnant but I must admit a lot of pregnant women in my workplace still have gel nails done so I suppose it’s personal preference, good luck 🤞🏻🍀
For me my clinic said to remove it before egg retrieval. For transfers it was fine
Thanks for all the replies, my clinic hasn't specified anything but I'll call them tomorrow just to check ☺️
You only need to remove any nail varnish for a collection so they can check your nails in the event you lose a lot of blood. For a FET there isn’t a risk of that and you’re awake, so nail varnish is totally fine
@Krystina yes this is exactly it, anytime you’re under general anesthesia you are not permitted to have nail polish to ensure you have adequate blood flow—and because certain nail techniques (acrylic or dip) can mess with the readers.
Hey so i removed my finger polish for retrieval - for readers and blood loss. I did get a pedicure the day before. My clinic said I could keep tow polish on - nothing gets hooked up to your toes … and the clinic actually gave me big fuzzy socks to wear so they wouldn’t see my toes anyway.
I never had to remove anything for any of my procedures .. I’ve always had my nails done and toes
The only thing they told me for transfer was no perfume
My understanding is that you need to remove everything for egg collection but not for FET. I’ve done 3 FETs with make up on and gel nails and my clinic had no issue with it.
