Laparoscopy to remove endometrioma

Hi ladies, I saw my consultant today who advised I will need surgery to remove my endometrioma as it is 10cm. I’m hoping to have this done private in around 3 weeks. Im looking for some positive stories of similar experiences and successful pregnancies after the surgery. Also, was this IVF or natural/fertility meds. ❤️

I've had to laproscopic procedures to remove endo and adhesions and also had to have my left ovary scaffolded back up as it dropped. And now 3 years since my last surgery I am currently 7 weeks pregnant. Done all natural so there is light and hope at rhe end of the tunnel. I got told years ago after my first surgery I might never have children but here I am today meeting my little miracle In January 2024. Don't give up ❤️❤️

That’s amazing news, congratulations! ❤️

I had my laparoscpy after being on a waiting list for 9 months after being told there was nothing wrong or showing on any ultrasound. I had the op in the July 2022 and they found it deep on the pouch of douglas and on the left uteroscal ligament which they blazed off and then by the November 2022 we finally got a positive test after trying since the February 2022 last year and I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant with a healthy little girl if I hadn't had that procedure I really don't think it would have happened my surgeon told me to try and if after 6 months and nothing happened to then come back to the gynaecology unit and look at alternatives. Don't give up so glad you are getting your op it's so worth it ♥️♥️

I've had two laparoscopies to remove endometrium tissue. Currently 26 weeks pregnant (naturally) with my second baby 💜💜 First was also conceived naturally after 9 years of being told by drs that I would need medical intervention in order to have kids.

@olivia wow that’s such a positive story ❤️ congratulations on your baby girl, not long to go!

@Jessica amazing! How long after your second laparoscopy did you conceive? 💓

We've only been trying 2 months aswell xx

@Sarah I think it was roughly 2 years or so after my surgery -- but I was on birth control up until the month I got pregnant. We were planning to start trying 3 months after I got pregnant and I was giving my body time to regulate after years on birth control. Also got pregnant with our 2nd on our 1st month trying.

@Jessica I was the same been on the pill for years and came off in February this year so only 2 months for

I had exactly the same removed in June 22 along with a couple of rare cysts on my ovaries. I started IVF in Jan 23 (should have been Nov/Dec 22, but needed an ECG and had to wait for results for the go ahead), I’m currently 17 weeks and 6 days pregnant. During IVF treatment the cysts have come back and a smaller endometrioma, which is being monitored regularly by the pre-term birth clinic. Please don’t worry, there are a lot of positive pregnancy stories after this kind of surgery ☺️ You’ve got this! 💞

I lhad two miscarriages and was trying for three years had my Lascopamy and first month of trying we fell pregnant and had a healthy baby three years ago

@Tea did they say what stage your endo was and if they removed and scarring tissue? Just been examined today and told it feels like the endometrioma is stuck in my pouch of Douglas. Surgery booked for 17th July 😊

@Skye I’ve had two miscarriages too! I’m hoping for a story like yours 🤞🏼❤️

@Sarah They didn’t, they just said it was very severe and I must’ve been in some pain 🤣 They didn’t know I had endo until they were doing surgery, I was in surgery for 4 hours and spent 2 nights in hospital after. My left fallopian tube is now fused against my hip (will require surgery to remove it in the future as they couldn’t find consent on the day), but even that didn’t cause any further problems with our IVF cycle. I wish you all the best with your surgery, I am sure you will feel much better after 💞
