Accessing labour notes

I’ve heard that you can request all the notes from your labour, just wondering if anyone knows how I go about this? I did ask on discharge and got told where to go but I was so out of it I forgot

Contact PALS or your hospitals Birth Reflections service where they'll go through everything with you. X

I contacted birth reflections they got back to me within a couple of months. I did find it quite helpful. The midwife did also tell me you can access your notes online but I haven’t done this yet.

@Joanne I know I’ve got my badger notes but it doesn’t really tell me anything about my labour just midwife visits etc x

Thanks girls will give it a go. I’m just so nosey and think I’ll find it interesting since I can’t really remember anything from my labour 😂

When I requested my meeting, I asked for it face-to-face and we talked a lot about my hospital visits and appointments as I had a lot, but you can request to talk about your labour I think as well

I got handed mine when we left the hospital, i didn't even have to ask to for them. I thought that was standard procedure but onviously not

On your badgernotes there is a section about your labour and midwife notes from check ins. I think it's under postnatal notes xx

I requested mine after having a birth reflection session. I think it only took a couple of weeks for them to be sent out. But it was through the hospital website I booked a reflection, and she gave me the details for my notes to be requested x

How long do y’all think they keep them on file, I’m intrigued and want to ask for mine

@Emily - Jade my badger notes was rubbish, barely ever updated it just when they fancied 😂

@Dawn was it curiosity that you done the reflections? Or was there a reason? I’d be interested but don’t want to feel like I’m wasting time just cause I’m nosey 😂
