Yes they usually stay. If you don’t want them to you can ask for a code word
You’ll have to ask your hospital but usually they do stay
Think it depends on the hospital, I was in for 3 nights and my partner he stayed with me every night and my mum, dad, brother and sister would come visit during the day. But it was open for any visiror to come and go any time 24 hours, there was a security on the door taking names and who they was visiting (March this year) x
I think it depends on the hospital, as I’ve heard of some that only allow partners during visiting hours however my husband was allowed to stay with me the whole 6 days I was in being induced and then after my section 😊
Depends if they have individual rooms or if you're in a bay with other women.
Thanks ladies. As long as he can stay first night. I'm happy. My mum will be looking after our 4 children this weekend. So everything is all good x
My partner wasn’t allowed to stay overnight after either of my sections. Our other local hospital don’t allow partners to stay overnight either. So it’s really hospital dependant.
Every trust is different. My partner had a pull out bed made up after my elective and he stayed the whole time. I was at St Thomas’ x
I’ll be sending mine home. He’ll have a terrible night sleep if he’s in the hospital, sleeping on a chair. Plus, they can bring you more snacks if they leave and come back 😄
Mine wasn't allowed to stay. He could only be there from 10am-8pm, I was in for 5 nights in total. It will depend on your hospitals policy, and visiting hours. It meant he got to go home and get good sleep, so he was there to help when we got home.
Dads had to leave the ward by 10pm, even on the first night! It’s crazy! Major abdominal surgery-here’s your baby to look after 😆 the nurses also said on the 2nd night I was in they’re only allowed to help on the first night, if your in any more they wouldn’t even help get baby out of the cot! Hopefully your hospitals different 🥰 xx
Mine wasn't allowed to stay over after mine he could stay until 9pm, I'd probably have sent him home Evan if he could stay as I had hourly obvs through the night and it made sense for one of us to get a decent night sleep ready for the next day xx
I wasn't allowed but that was at st Mary's Manchester who were overall a disgrace 🥰
i was induced which turned into an emergency c section, gave birth at 10pm and was in a recovery room with my partner for x3 hours before being wheeled to my room to which he was made to leave, i was so upset but was told by the midwife to “get it together, he needs to go home and sleep so he can look after you tomorrow when he returns” my friend however had an elective c section a the same hospital and her partner was allowed to stay overnight! personally i feel it just depends whoever is on duty as every midwife is different.
I think every trust is different, I had a emergency section at 2am and my partner was made to leave at 6am and told him to come back at 8.30 with the other visitors. You’d think the could off let him away with 2.5hrs. He’s stayed the night before while getting induced because I was in a single room. The next off the c section I wasn’t but only 1 other in it.
