Iv had this 😬 About 4 years ago.. It’s so unpleasant and can become very painful. If it’s the same as what I had they think mine stemmed from an ingrown hair I was actually in hospital for a week or so before they could operate due to the operating theatre being too busy with life or death situations and in that time mine got bigger and bigger and I couldn’t walk.. they had tried to palm me off with antibiotics in the weeks leading up to it when I first noticed a slight lump and pressure down there but it didn’t work. Eventually they operated after being bed ridden in the hospital waiting for the operation. I would certainly advise that you go sooner rather than later x
Please don’t be embarrassed… this has happened to me just this weekend, where my Pubic line meets the crease of my bump, I found a lump, which go of potentially come from an ingrown hair shaving last week, it became very very painful to stand and walk, today it was a size of a small egg the midwife said and wanted it rechecked from doc even though I went yesterday, today I was told it was an abscess and to go back tomorrow to see if it can be drained, but to hot compress in the meantime, this afternoon it has burst with blood everywhere, I now have to go to the docs everyday for a dressing to be changed to help it get better, definitely go to the doctors, if it’s the same as me it needs sorting, I’m also on antibiotics for 5 days
So I don't know it if will keep this anonymous or not but to hell with it. Thank you everyone who replied. I went to the doctor's today it was a boil (between spot and abscess) and of course it popped like 20 mins before I went to the appointment. Doctor was lovely and tried to get most of it out and was super happy I had been putting a hot flannel on it. She can't dress it but gave me some antibiotics and I'll keep up the antiseptic cream just in case. Apparently this is super common! As we are entering our later stage of pregnancy our body has shut down our immune system a bit so it doesn't attack the very big foreign entity (the baby!) But it makes us much more susceptible to developing nasty cysts and illnesses and picking up things. As we are presumably all in the late stages now she was stressing how important it is to try and avoid picking up coughs, colds and COVID as we need to breathe for labour! Thanks for making me feel less alone and making me swallow my pride to get it looked at.
@Humera I found that cream super helpful too! Whenever I feel it could be coming back I use that cream and it’s sorted it before it gets out of hand!
@incognito Super glad you got this sorted 💜
@Jessica yes😂😂😂😂
Glad it’s all been sorted, mine was fully on abscess and has to be dressed now for the next two weeks, glad they put you on antibiotics too x
Slight update. Me and the antibiotics did NOT get on. Having to now mix it up with some anti sickness in hope of finishing the course. Weirdly I'm fine with pain but nausea and vomiting I really hate! The joys of modern medicine! (though very thankful for it)
Ahh no bless you, hopefully will sort itself out and you won’t feel like this for long x
I would speak to your GP. I had a cyst high up on my leg where pubic hair grows a few years ago and they had to cut it out via local anaesthetic. Don’t pop it! They may say they will sort it after the birth but I would give them a ring to see what they say x
