My son can say mama dada and nana and ya. He knows 2 words in sign language which are more and done. I wouldn’t worry too much just spend lots of time talking to her and she will catch on quick. Im an ECE and from what I learned in school that talking to your child at this age is so important cause their brains are like sponges and the more u tell them what things are when they point or pick it up the more they will remember. Hang in their mama ur doing amazing 💜
My 19 month old son is saying around 100-200 words. Remember that animal noises, signs and incomplete or mispronounced words count too. There is such a wide range of normal though. The most beautiful advice I have ever got is that children are like popcorn. They don’t all pop at the same time but they all eventually pop, and once they are you can’t tell which one popped first. It’s easy to compare but it’s not worth it. If your little one is trying to communicate I honestly wouldn’t worry yet but that’s me. But at the same time if your doctor suggests early intervention, it can only benefit your child even if they don’t really need it. It won’t harm them!
My daughter is 18 months she is saying about 12/ 15 words she mainly uses 1/2 of them on a daily basis however and she uses sign language more often as well, she knows 5 signs which is her basic needs. Every kid is different sometimes taking them to parks or In settings of play with other kids is the trick. My oldest wasn’t talkn but about 5 words or so at almost 2 now he won’t stop talking lol
My child has never babbled, or spoke but she knows 27 signs.
My 19mo is barely talking. He can say a few words, cah for car, cah for cow, dah for duck, when i ask what sound the sheep makes he says ba. He can say the sounds mama and dada but doesnt really use them to call us. He recently started signing more. He babbles and says random sounds most of the time.
I appreciate everyone’s input so much. It’s interesting to hear how differently toddlers develop. Thank you everyone :)
My first one was like this at 3 she’s a chatterbox. My Dec babe talks in sentences now. Every child is different. As long as she’s learning new words gradually I wouldn’t be too concerned.
