Toddler Voice
This has been on my mind for awhile… and it keeps happening, but I feel I am taking the wrong approach. Let me explain, my toddler naturally has a loud voice. When we are out in public though, it seem she enjoys making her voice a bit louder than usual. So for instance, she’ll basically scream “Mama” or “Dada” or any other random words she knows. The problem I have is that.. when this happens I feel like everyone around is judging me and looking at me like “control your child”. I fricken hate it, so I just proceed to try and ask her to lower her voice or speak quietly… which doesn’t work obviously lol she’s only 20 months.
Anyway, I just need advice. How can I help my child with her out bursts and how can I respond to people who I feel are judging me when this happens?
I also just really need to know I’m not the only one dealing with this, and if you relate.. where are you, let’s get the kids together!!! Please 😭😢
My lil guy has been doing this too. It's totally normal. Best way I find to manage it is by gently and kindly reminding him while we're at home if he's getting a little too loud, then when we're out and about, he's already used to me reminding him. Granted, it doesn't always work or prevent him from being loud (at home or when we're out), but the teaching is there. As for the people judging you, if they are, they are. You don't have to answer to them. Maybe apologize if you need to, like at an event or something, but most often, I wouldn't worry about other people and what they think. Kids are kids and that's it.
