Laxido sachets for constipation

Has anyone else been prescribed laxido sachets for their LO for constipation and know how long they take to work? My LG has always suffered from constipation but it usually can be solved with massage etc. This time is seems quite severe though and she was prescribed laxido. She has to take 2 sachets per day mixed with water but it’s a nightmare getting her drink it 😵‍💫 I put it in her sippy cup and she took sips on and off all day yesterday but didn’t finish it. I mixed it with her milk this morning and she drank the full thing but it doesn’t seem to be having any effect yet. Does anyone else’s LO suffer from regular constipation? My LG gets plenty of fibre, weetabix every morning, loves fruit and vegetables etc so I don’t know why she’s always constipated 😫

Yes - mine has been prescribed lactulose as I said he wouldn’t drink the sachets

My little ones just been prescribed lactulose because she was in so much pain the other morning, apparently it can be their body getting used to cows milk? It’s so horrible to watch them in pain 😩😩

We were on lactulose, not sure if it’s the same but I believe it takes 48 hours for it to kick in, we were on it for a month and it made no difference for us, we’re now on movicol sachets that I mix with Apple juice x

My little boy got prescribed these and suppositories. We were firstly using half a sachet a day then they didn’t work so was advised to do a sachet a day (half at night and half in the morning). The doctor advised putting a little orange or apple juice into it so he could drink it but I tried that previously so she mentioned adding a little water and making it into a paste like thing and feed him it which he took. We also were advised to use suppositories as and when required but we’ve only had to use them once and we’re only using the sachets for about 2 weeks I think it was. My little ones the same will have fibre, weetabix and fruit etc but I think this started from the cows milk as I just transitioned straight over. Anyways I change his milk to alpro soya 1-3 year toddler one. He loves it and goes to the toilet maybe once or every second day which is better for him as when he was just on formula could be upto 5-7 days till he went x

When my little boy had a sickness bug and advised to use dioralyte I was told to mix it in a fruit puree as he always eats them 😊

We mix the sachets with water and then put a good glug of squash in there - when we were in hospital, the doctors said it can taste a little soapy 😊 we have a normal baby bottle that he will definitely take it from! That’s his ‘laxido/Movicol’ bottle!

My daughter has suffered massively since birth with pooing, we’ve tried lactulose, suppositories and then we tried laxido/movicol and at first we was on 1 sachet and it did nothing so eventually the GP advised us to give 8 sachets a day as well as using the suppositories and the lactulose and still it was doing nothing, my little girl screams in pain every time she tries to strain and she holds her breath, her bum bleeds and she’s soaked in sweat when trying then falls straight to sleep because it tires her out so much it’s awful but if nothing is working then I’d advise going to a specialist as we’re now waiting to be seen by a surgeon to see if there’s something more serious xx
