Low follicle count & Ivf success stories please

I am 29 have 3 follicles and 0.02 AMA tomorrow I have my result I don’t know what they will suggest to me but pray everything is on the hand of Allah

Hi. I wanted to share my success story as this is something I looked for whilst going through IVF. I also had an amh of 4.5 pmol and around 6 follicles. First round I only had one embryo and none good enough to freeze. This cycle didn’t work. Second cycle I had 3 embryos on day 5 but only one graded as good quality and the other two were not good enough to freeze. They gave us the option of transferring the good graded embryo but also one of the ones not good enough to freeze which we agreed to. This was nearly a year ago. I now have a 11 week old little girl. We’ll never know which embryo stuck. I know someone who had a few frozen embryos and the one that stuck was the last embryo to be used… the one with the worst grade. I took a lot of zita west supplements leading up to the second round. Wishing you all the best. Xx

@Siwan which protocol did they use on you the 2nd time? TIA 😊

I was on a long protocol and the maximum medication during both rounds. I wasn’t responding as well as the first time (follicles weren’t growing) and they were considering cancelling the second round but decided that I should inject for a few more days longer. I asked for a higher dose of progesterone during the second round which was agreed so I don’t know if that made a difference as well. Xx

@Margot hey what do you mean by dual stim?

@Lucie I am getting 2 stimulation injections per day. One is gonal f at 225 and menotropin at 224. Best of luck.

Hi, I remember searching out success stories when I first got my test results back, so hopefully this will help! My AMH levels were really low 0.2 (36 years old). We did a duo stim cycle where you have back to back egg collections. It was tough - but managed to get 3 day 5 embryos, and I am now 17 weeks pregnant! Has your clinic discussed a duo stim cycle with you?

Hi @Sarah thank you so much for sharing your experience. It really means a lot. Huge congratulations on your pregnancy. Our clinic actually hadn’t discussed that with us, but funnily enough we did ask about it and they advised for me to have a break between cycles (mostly because they couldn’t explain why this cycle was so unresponsive)

@Sarah hi Sarah, I had my cycle cancelled due to poor response and I have extremely low AMH. Can you please advise if you had your treatment privately?

@Ammu How low? Do you still have follicles? I ended up having success also. It seemed impossible but it only took one 5 day embryo.

@Daisy hiya! My AMH is 0.2 and every scan at the treatment they told me they can’t see any follicles as a result it was cancelled

@Ammu did they see anything at baseline? How old are you?

@Ammu Can they check a few months in a row? The follicle count changes month to month.

@Sarah just wondering how to managed to get dual stims? My clinic said it's in rare cases. We're you have a lot of follicles growing each time? Thanks in advance

@Siwan hi..what do you mean by higher dose during second round? I thought progesterone was to help with lining rather than follicle growth? Thanks in advance

@Jen hi Jen. During my first round I started bleeding not long after the transfer. I’ve always suspected I have low progesterone. So for the second round I asked if I could have more progesterone. First round I had the pessaries. Second round I had the pessaries and also an injection, which meant I was using a higher amount of progesterone every day. Hope that makes sense! Also, I actually had a short protocol for both rounds, not long as I said previously. We had another consultation last week as going for IVF again and they said it was short I had previously.

Also, wanted to add I wasn’t on the highest amount of medication either. Think i’d blocked the details out the first two rounds as it was stressful. They are going to put me on the highest dose now, likely due to my age.

@Siwan yes that does make sense re. Progesterone... Can I ask how old you are? Thanks for responding. I'm already on max dose so looking at exploring alternatives...
