Speech delay? Possible autism..?

So my son is 22 months, and we finally got into a developemental pediatrician 2 weeks ago. I had been asking my sons (now old) pediatrician for MONTHS for a speech referral. He has been in early intervention since January (by my own doing). My son will be 2 late September and will babble words, mama, dada, gogogo, baba, but doesn’t address things by their name. We were told it’s 6 months from now to get into speech therapy. They did like a “pre evaluation” (mchat) for autism and he scored a 4 which is considered moderate risk 0-2 low 3-7 moderate 8-20 sever risk. Has anyone been in this situation and if so what did you do? I can’t help but spiral when going down the rabbit hole..

Out of curiosity is your son around other children?

@Kas no, he stays home with me. I’ve recently been trying to get him out more to get to be around other littles. But he’s an only child with no cousins 😩

My oldest just turned 4, she was diagnosed autistic at 2yrs 2 months. At 1 year she had probably 5 or 6 words and then by 1½yrs they were gone. They were never replaced, just gone. Physically she was keeping up but verbally not even close. She also wouldn't nod, shake her head or point. She would wiggle her fingers in front of her eyes and arm flap when excited. My 2yr old is the exact opposite. If you have any specific questions I can try and answer them!

@Vanessa I messaged you :)

My 3.5 year old is an only child and his pediatrician wasn’t really concerned about autism due to him not having any other autism like symptoms. She suggested getting him out more in the public and around other kids. He will be starting preK and we are going to reevaluate his speech delay then.

I am having the hardest time getting my 3 year old in somewhere to be evaluated for autism. she has a lot of the signs just most places that I have contacted doesn't do 3 year olds and the ones that does is a waiting list of almost a year.
