I recommend the early intervention also. We missed it by a few months so now the way we are having to go is a pain
Definitely early intervention! Still in it with my son. No matter how your daughter does on the initial evaluation or how the sessions go with your OT or speech therapist, be sure you never underestimate her. Speech is only one area of a child’s development, and nobody has any idea where she will be at in a few months, let alone a few years. In the meantime, songs, dances, rhymes are all great. My son tends to learn well through physical activity, and he loves books and puzzles. So if she seems interested in anything, lean into it. And remember, you know her best!
My daughter is the same (1 year 5 months). I have mentioned it to HV and my local one says they don’t refer to speech therapy until they are atleast 2.5years. However they did refer me to audiology to check everything is okay with her hearing (it was fine). Due to my daughter having other developmental delays in regards to her social development she gets regular developmental checks and will be referred to the correct services x
I wouldn’t worry but the earlier you can do early intervention the better!
