Infant gaviscon mamas

Hey guys! My son was prescribed gaviscon for suspected reflux last Wednesday and we’ve been doing 2 bottles (which I’ve done the first feed and the bedtime feed) as they only gave me 15 sachets and she said to do it for a week before my review and he has 6-7 bottles a day so I thought 2 bottles a day would make it last the week, whereas it would only do 2 days if I did every feed. Anyway, my question was how long were your little ones on it before you saw a difference? The first few days of trying it, his spit up is much much worse and borderline projectile and there are now times in the day where you can see he’s regurgitating acid in his throat/mouth as he will be fine having a cuddle or laying down and will gag out of nowhere and then gets very unsettled and uncomfortable. He’s already on an amino acid formula for severew CMPA so I know it’s not the milk and this is the only change. I just don’t understand how it’s making it so much worse or what I can do to help?? Any ideas??? 🙏😩

I found this with my LG, I've stopped using gaviscon atm to see what happens and so I can go to the doctors about it if needed. I've only been doing 1 bottle a day with gaviscon tho

@Alisha thank you hun! I didn’t actually give him it today and he hasn’t been sick once🙏 🤦🏻‍♀️. I had no direction from the gp about how many to do, the box just said “1 sachet as directed” and I knew she wanted to review it tomorrow so I started with 1 then moved to 2 a day. He seemed so much better without it today that I don’t even want to give it to him again xx

@Courtney mention it to the doctor and see what she says, my box said to do a double sachet so I did both sachets and then moved to just one half a day because 1 whole double. Seemed too. Much?

Gaviscon didn’t work for my LB. He’s on omeprazole now which seems a bit better but still sick (like thick curdled milk) he’s on Nutramigen form CMPA too x

My little girl was chocking that much on acid reflux she turned blue in the middle of the night I changed her bottles from Tommy tippy to dr brown and she's on 6 satchets a day she still spits up abit but not as much as she did before she started gaviscon
