Fear of Pooping while in labour

36 weeks now. Not sure if it’s right but I’m really concerned about pooping during labour as I’ve heard a lot of these stories. My husband is gonna be there with me in labour and I will be super duper embarrassed if I pooped in front of him or nurses. Im excessively sensitive about it. Anyone else feels the same?

I’ve seen a baby be born into this world, and there was poo but you don’t even notice. All anyone cares about is the baby!

I was also worried about it happening. Before I was at the pushing stage and high on pain killers I told the midwives my concerns and they were so casual and calmly said they really don't care about someone pooing and it doesn't phase them in the slightest. I know it's still an embarrassing thought but remember those hospital staff will see it all the time. Also they will be so quick at cleaning it up your partner won't even know unless he/she is right down there looking. Perhaps tell partner you'd rather they stay at the top end?

I was afraid my whole pregnancy I would, but it’s the truth when they say “you won’t care when your in labor”. I can’t remember my labor and let alone if I pooped during 😂😂

It will happen but nurses will remove it so fast that you will not notice and your husband will definitely not notice. So truly nothing to worry about.

Honestly when your in the room and your baby is coming there could be a big brass band down there and you wouldn't care 🤣 don't stress about it! Xxx

Honestly once you’re in Labour, you wont care anymore. I was super worried too as I don’t even fart in front of my partner, unless I’m asleep 😂😂 I didn’t poo in the end but honestly, I wouldn’t have cared if I did. They say if you poo it’s a good sign that you’re pushing properly and you will only be worried about getting the baby out safely. Good luck girlie!

I was so embarrassed before I had my baby incase I pooped😂 all I can say is that’s all I was concentrating on and it defo helped me push my boy out, I did not have a care in the world! You’re in so much pain you just want it over and done with and pooing will be the least of your worries x

I had to have an enema so there was poo everywhere, but I can assure you there’s more important things to take up your time and you just won’t care!

I was positive I would have a poo (I have chrons disease 😂) genuinely didn’t poop though but the midwives really do not care at all, they see it as a good sign for a good push!

I felt the same but once I was in labour I couldn’t care less. Also the midwives are so quick at taking action if necessary and so discreet. You won’t even know. Good luck! ☺️

@YazmynJade thanks for the reassurance🥰

Honestly though once you're in labour you won't care at all and will want that baby out any means necessary

I felt the same but was told most women do it it's natural and they attempt to make sure you never know you've done it
