Hi my son is 2 and started nursery 3 weeks ago and yesterday they pulled Me in to have a chat. I'm Said that they have seen signs of autism. They said they have to assess him for a following 3 week weeks 6 in total to refer him ans said in the mean time to contact the health visitor and GP which I had is there any more I can do?
I did contact health visitor in March last year requesting a autism assessment but never had a response.
I've also been told to contact dla in the mean time but he's not been diagnosed?

My boy was referred when he turned 1 yr as he was showing signs extremely early, he’s seen a PED and he’s been referred to all the usual places (S&L, mobility, hearing, sight) but we are still waiting to hear from them and it’s been 7 months. The waiting list is so long so it’s not going to be a quick or easy road unfortunately 😞 I’m in the process of filling out a claim for DLA myself x

It's hard to get DLA without a diagnosis but I'd advise chasing up the health visitor I had to keep msging mine every few weeks as they were taking a while and it's best getting on the list for assessment asap as it can take an awful long time to actually be seen
