Sleeping

My baby will be 5 weeks tomorrow and this past week every night between 8-10 she just screams and screams no matter what we do. Any advice? Or is this just normal?

It sounds like colic, it could also be the 5th week growth spur. My son has been fighting sleep and crying this week as well (5 weeks old)

@Zoi what do I do about colic? Anything?

We call that the witching hour. We changed his schedule around and keep him entertained and do his bath then and it’s significantly reduced the screams!

My little man does this too! For him, he is over tired from the day. We swaddle him and turn his sound machine on (white noise soothe him best!) and we rock & pat him. It can be exhausting, but you got this mama!

@Miranda I wish my girl liked to be swaddled 🥲 she absolutely hates it

@Lola I’m thinking this is the case. She passes gas okay but she hasn’t been pooping as much. It’s just a small amount compared to what it used to be

Most babies do at first, especially my daughter! But they sleep so much better and deeper while swaddled! So we soothe them the best we can and when they fall asleep their hands won’t wake them up!

@Miranda I’ve tried everything to get her to like being swaddle even doing it after she sleeps 🥲 she screams immediately lol but we do have one that allows her to have her hands by her face and she doesn’t mind that one as much!
