Our number one name is margot and I’m worried about the exact same thing too 😩 I had a baby last year and there were 2 Margot’s in our baby sensory class
I don’t know any Margot’s so I don’t think it is that popular. I also don’t see the name on the top 100 baby names.
@Alexandra oh no. I'm a little bit annoyed tbh as I've wanted to use this name for about 10 years, bloody Margot Robbie! I want to name my little girl Marguerite and have Margaux as a shortened version as my fiance is french, but he says no. I wish I didn't have to get him to agree to a name 🙄
I don't know any but I know it is rising.
I've just had a baby and met a tonne of Margot's. Loads of Mabel's as well which is a name we considered
@Sophie Mabel is a lovely name. We called our dog Mabel 4 years ago as it went well with our other dog’s name not even thinking we would ever consider it as a name for our future child. 🤣 So that made us avoid the name even though I loved it.
Margot is definitely more popular than it was but I work in a 3 form entry school and there is no Margot, Sophia or Bella!
I have met two Margot babies in the last 4 mins
@Amy that's interesting, I have taught so many Bella's in primary school and when I was a secondary teacher there was more than one Sophie in every year group. I wouldn't suppose the Margot's have gone to school yet, I think it's only just becoming very popular.
I have ruled it out in anticipation of it becoming popular because of Margot/Barbie.
I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s not in the top 3 and it’s a lovely name.
