@Sam Not really no, his done it a few times when his excited that I’ve shown him a biscuit but it’s not a daily occurrence, does yours? There’s no other signs that are there to cause me to think anything but just thought what his doing was different
My boy does quite a lot, mainly because he’s excited but also when he’s having a paddy, he snaps out of paddy’s quite quickly. It’s hard because they’re so young and I don’t want to worry too much but as a mum it’s normal to worry. My boy answers to his name and will follow instructions like ‘come here’ or ‘can I see’ and he will bring things to me. He also is really good with imaginary play. Just some of the things he does make me question. He flaps his hands and is constantly making noise, hums and says different sounds, he runs around everywhere doesn’t really walk, he spins round is circles but not excessively, he paces sometimes, he will bring me his juice if he has run out rather than ask for more, he’s really hyperactive. However he was early with the physical things like crawling and walking. He understands a lot but will kick off at me if I ask him to go get something or sometimes he will just ignore me. I dunno it’s really hard sometimes
My son does this but many other things aswel he’s the same age and autistic. If your son is doing well development wise I wouldn’t worry. My son says absolutely nothing, doesn’t answer to his name, doesn’t play with us or other children, laughs and cry’s randomly. Just waiting for his assessment when he turns 2
@Sam yeah I’m kind of going to wait to see if it’s something he grows out of. Yeah I get that, it’s hard as they can’t communicate so by doing those things is them expressing how there feeling. My son does spin in circles from time to time too and he doesn’t walk too he basically runs 😅 my son is also high energy but then I think what toddler isn’t? He doesn’t sleep too so that’s another thing but that also could just be because his a difficult sleeper. It is very hard!
@Sam Did you go see a HV about it? Has he been diagnosed with Autism? X
So it could be stimming but stimming is incredibly normal it’s not just neurodiverse people who stim 😊
We went to the dr who watched him for a while and we told him all our concerns and he agreed with us, so he’s pushed to have my son assessed properly as soon as he turns 2. We know he has it just need the confirmation and then the knowledge to support him properly
My son does this too apart from the following lines, gates or paths. My son also doesn’t have many words. Just wondering does your son flap his arms around or anything like that when excited or upset?
