I used UrbanSitter because they have background checks, and a nanny friend said they will actually kick members off the platform if a parent logs a complaint. (Not everyone on there has a background check but their individual profile I think has a logo and shows the date of the last verification?) Adina’s Nanny Network is also good for understanding what is common in terms of hourly rates, job description, benefits for a longer term arrangement. There is some cattiness in the comments that can turn some people off, but if you look at it through the lens of career nannies advocating for each other, I think it’s actually very helpful! The last place you can check is with a nanny agency. Nanny Park is one that’s been popping up in facebook groups lately!
I used to nanny through urban sitter before having my own little one . You have you have to complete a background check every year .
Great info ladies! I appreciate it. My dad is still trying to be the one that takes my baby to school 🙄, and I wouldn’t mind if I wasn’t going to live on the third floor (he’s 82 years old)!
I was going to do the background check myself but if the companies do themselves that’s awesome! And I’ll be able to check the info?
