Reflux

Any other babies struggling with severe reflux? My girl is sick up to 60 times a day and we’re struggling to cope. She’s on aptamil pepti for cmpa. Tried gaviscon, carobel, omeprazole, keeping upright, extra burping, smaller feeds to no avail. It’s a fight getting the doctors to listen. I worry she’s not getting enough and constantly counting wet nappies and recording how many times she’s sick. Even if she sleeps straight after a bottle, it’ll come up as soon as she wakes up right until her next feed 😩

We’re the exact same. Currently taking gaviscon which is helping with the screaming but I’m just at my wits end now😩😩

It’s so exhausting isn’t it. Trying to keep bed, pram, car seat, next to me etc dry is pointless. We get through puppy pads like crazy

I’ve been to the doctors so many times and just nothing…..

Random question girls, when your little ones are sick is it milk coming up or water? 🤦🏼‍♀️

Ours is a mix of both it starts of as milk then it goes to bile and is clear and absolutely stinks

@Casey im going to call the health visitor Now and ask for a specialist appointment

@Mia I went to see a pediatrician and she said about possible cows milk allergy. I was super sceptical and just wanted to medicate my baby asap because the screaming was just so awful and relentless. Plus not ever being able to lie her down was becoming completely impossible and exhausting. Anyway, I went dairy free and kept the meds for just in case. And it worked, really quite quickly and I haven't had to use the meds. Of course this might not be what's going on got your little one, and you may have already tried this. But just wanted to share if helpful. Demand that your GP refers you. You have the right to that. It's so so hard going through this. Hope you're okay.

@Flora I have an appointment with the gp next week and have just now been referred to an online group. I’m definitely sick of being fobbed off now, going to demand something g happens! The only side affects he has is just being in pain and being sick a lot, I wasn’t sure if lactose free would mean that he had any other symptoms x

Glad to hear you're seeing GP. Demand that referral!! Mine wasn't sick (silent reflux) but she was in pain all the time (screaming all the time), hiccuping, gagging and spluttering a lot. Pediatrician said reflux was the main symptom of cows milk allergy, so that could be what's going on?

Oh really, I’ll definitely be demanding! I feel when you’re a first time mum they just shoot you down completely and I’m just a wimp and just agree with them and do whatever they suggest 😩😩

@Mia I know the feeling! Thankfully my GP was too scared to do anything without referring to a specialist. Really hope you get some answers soon (btw I should have said the cutting dairy from my diet is because I'm breastfeeding. Not sure how you're feeding, but great there are also dairy free formulas!!)

We’ve been referred to paediatrician today and started neocate. Praying this helps her 🤞 and it’s good to know you’re getting help! It’s horrible for them

Yup similar here. I'm currently having to co-sleep with him on my chest every night to get sleep, it's literally the only way any of us get sleep. Otherwise he just cries and cries and vomits on his back. I've cut out cow's milk from my diet and that seems to help with his discomfort but he's still very most days. It's exhausting
