Mirena iud after birth

Hi girlie's I'm really stressed/ depressed about having the IUD fitted 4 months postpartum as I'm so close to my prebirth weight and dont want to put on weight now with the coil :( I know it sounds really stupid but the way my body has changed after baby has been really making me depressed 😔

Oh hun, your barely past giving birth to a whole other person. It took 9 months to make that person, give yourself some grace and time to lose the weight and see what your body has gone through and what it is to you now. Is it the copper iud or hormonal one? I dont know much about whether they both could cause that but have you talked to your doc or healthcare provider about your concerns?

@Samantha I know its just people around me have commented on how I look 'different' 'older' after giving birth and I know its because I've put on weight 😞 I've taken the mirena out today and will be going on the pill see how it goes x

Sorry! I only just realised you had replied. Blast them and what they see lol your keeping a brand new human alive! Get them to try being sleep deprived and becoming a 24/7 maid/food factory/arm holder and see if they look the same after 4 months. Sometimes the maturity comes from the new attitude portrayal as we change with the new responsibility we have. It's not always about weight, usually we assume it's whatever we think our worst flaw is. Good luck on the pill and finding something that works for you. I found the fake chemicals always caused something in my body to muck up so I prefer the copper iud or condoms 🤷‍♀️ whatever works for you!
