I had this when I was 36/37 weeks, mine was because of one scan bab had too much fluid round her,So I was given a blood test machine to do at home, for a week go back, look at results, then had another week of testing and then was induced at 39weeks because of this and another thing. But as it was late in pregnancy they wasn’t too worried for me as the fluid reduced and levels seemed normal after 2 readings that was highly by 2

I didn’t have late diagnosis but did have GD, I was borderline, I believe they would just deal with it the same way by asking you to test your sugar levels each day and watch your diet until birth of your baby, then test your babies sugar levels after birth for a few hours and then re-test yours weeks after birth

It just affects your birth plan a bit but it's still your choice at the end of the day. They often want to induce you early so just read around early induction, the process and also just be prepared for an emergency c-section if induction fails. I had an early induction and emergency c-section with my GD pregnancy. Second pregnancy I asked to go to 40 weeks and have sweeps as I was on minimal insulin for it by then. Still ended in c-section but I healed really well for both of them... If you're not on insulin, it shouldn't affect your birth plan at all, I think.

I was diagnosed around 28-29 weeks slightly late. They pretty much made me go to see a specialist, check my sugar levels at home and write it down. If they was high a lot give me metformin. I was induced at 38+6 they pretty much just put you into a private room with loads of equipment ect just in case of problems. So you don’t stress and so baby stays in that room with you and they fix the issue with the baby in that room with you. My baby was completely fine had her sugars tested by foot prick she passed twice straight away so went home the next day. She was jaundice tho idk if that is apart of it but yeah c
