Baby stopped cooing

He might be in the middle of learning a new physical skill. I read something about how previous skills might sometimes not show up as much when they are focusing on learning something new, like while learning to roll over for example speech might slow down in a baby.

Totally normal! He is just focused on other skills, he will start cooing again soon.

I could have written this myself. My 5 month old has done the same over the last few days. I have been so worried but keep telling myself he’s just learning something new🫶🏼

My 4 month old has done this and it was because he was working on a new skill. They can't seem to focus on more than one thing at a time 😂 He'll start babbling again once he's done! Give it a few days.

My babe started cooing again, and is now 11 months saying 5/6 words and chats all the time🥰

How long did this last for? My little one has turned 4 1/2 months and has gone from being super “chatty” to grunting only 🙃🙃

Hey @Esme, @Ellie, @Suzy, @Hania… he started babbling again around 6 months but it wasn’t consistent. Hell babble and then stop for another month and start again and then stop again. I kept getting worried. It’s almost 15 months now and is constantly talking!! He consistently started babbling around 12 months and near 13 months, actual words! Hasn’t stopped since
