First period VERY heavy - what’s normal?

Hi everyone, TMI but I don’t know how to differentiate what’s normal and what’s too much at this point as I always knew my first period would be heavy, but didn’t imagine it would be this extreme (or at least extreme to me). I’m changing pads every hour or less, when I wake up it’s literally like a tap (sorry, gross I know) and my clots are fairly large. Normal? Do I just wait til my next cycle to see if it settles next time around? It’s just weird to wrap my head around bleeding for 5 weeks, then I had a 4 day break from bleeding and now it’s at double it’s original rate. Anyone else’s experiences shared are appreciated x

Hi! I know that periods can change very much after pregnancy, mine was way more painful then ever before. And definitely heavier then I remember. If you’re worried definitely call your doctor! ☺️

I’m 7 weeks pp and just started my period yesterday and I’m exactly the same, super heavy, lots of small clots and very dark, almost black blood. The cramps are killing me, my back is in bits, my boobs weigh a ton each and just generally not a good time. 😩 I hope it won’t last long because I rather do my whole pregnancy again at this point 😂 xx

@Dominika the pregnancy-redo… I can totally relate 😂

Same here I was overfilling my overnight pads I use every hour or less it was wild, and didn’t expect it but it’s normal from what I’ve been told I bleed for 9 weeks and then got my period 13 weeks

Normal 👍 sounds like mine was
