Ok thank you! I know my sister said they told her her baby was measuring big. They told her he would be almost 10 lbs and he was 8.5 so I’m hoping it may just be off a little bit. 😅
i would take it with a grain of salt honestly. they had me go in for multiple growth scans with my son. even warned me they might have to bring the nicu up. had me worried sick honestly. he came out 7lbs 4oz. almost an entire lb bigger than my first. and they had no concerns about her size at all! he just sat soo low and pushed on my cervix that i guess they weren’t able to accurately measure him. there’s still time tho. you could have ovulated early or something too which could cause him to be bigger than what y’all thought. a week n a half isn’t a crazy difference
@aluna yeah I totally agree! So much up in the air. Very weird to me that they even bring it up haha 😂 like why worry us when there are so many variables! I definitely feel like he sits lower than my first did.
They were actually pretty accurate about my son… I was measuring big at like 36 weeks, and they estimated him to be like 7 lbs and said he may be about 8.5-9 lbs at my due date.. he was born two days after his due date at 9.5
Yes I had the same thing happen, and you will better be able to tell as you get closer to your due date. My son has been measuring a week ahead the entire pregnancy until about 2 weeks ago. This isn’t comforting, but now he’s huge and we’re looking at inducing a week early to avoid a c-section.
@Megan this is where my son is at too! I’m 37 weeks today and yesterday they measured him at 7 lb 15 oz. Expecting a 9.5 lb baby if I go to term.
I'm 35 weeks and measuring 37-38 with him
I wouldn’t go by it 💯 hun at my 20 weeks my boy was measuring almost 2 weeks ahead so put me through growth scans to keep eye on it up untill I was 35 weeks he was big and then all of a sudden dropped was told to exspect a 9+lbs baby and he came at 39+4 and was 7/10 it all Dpenz can be way he is laying or the person doing the scan xx
All my pregnancy they were telling me my son was measuring big. He was born at 39 weeks exactly, 8.5 pounds
Yeah my midwife told me my belly has been measuring right on so the ultrasounds can be off a little bit. She said if my belly starts to measure big or if I increase in weight a lot then they would look into it more but I’ve only gained 5-7 lbs up until now so she wasn’t too worried.
Both my boys measured big and were! Both also got stuck with heart rates dropping and the second baby needed resuscitation. I am a NICU nurse and see babes get stuck frequently because they are big so please take that into consideration when deciding where to have your baby.
@nicole yes I had my daughter at the birth center and had no complications with her but she was only 6lbs 9 oz. I know boys tend to be bigger as well as it’s my second so hubby and I are maybe reconsidering the home birth this time just to make sure everything and everyone will be safe. I’m small also only 5’ and petite so I just want everyone to be safe. Thanks for your words of advice. 💗
A lot of the times the anatomy scans are not actually that accurate when it comes to how big they are. With my second baby, They told me at mine that my baby was measuring bigger by like a week or two and he came out just fine, a 8 lb baby. I don’t know honestly, it’s hard to say because sometimes it can be accurate and others it isn’t. But yeah I have experienced that and everything was just fine and he wasn’t as big as they said he would be or thought he would be.
