Gel nails and giving birth

Hello, I'm a first time mum so I don't know how any of this works. I like having short gel nails but I absolutely despise having chipped nails and would rather have no nail varnish than chipped nail varnish. Is it possible to get your nails done the week you're due and then get them done again two/three weeks postpartum? I know this isn't a major issue or concern, I just feel like a fat lump of lard at the minute and getting my nails done has been helpful for my self esteem so it's been on my mind a lot 😅

I have an acrylic fill and a full pedi done 3 days before my CSection. No harm! My youngest is 5m and i still get them done!

I am pregnant with my third, and would advise that a few weeks before delivery you get all clear, clear nail polish

My apologies, sent too soon. Clear nail polish insures that in case of emergency C-section, or you having to go into surgery, the doctors can monitor the level of oxygen as it shows up first on your nails. I have found out when I had privately led pregnancy with my first, and been told that it is better to have the nails clear and nail plate visible. X

You’ll be fine! I had gel on and had a c-section and they didn’t even mention it x

I got gel nails done 3 days before my daughter was born. I also had to go to theatre after birth and it wasn’t any issue that my nails were done x
