@Coral it’s a never ending challenge isn’t it! Just so worried as she does this with food in her mouth! 😫 yeah my step MIL recommended ikea one, but it doesn’t have a foot rest, I feel she’d be comfier resting her feet than have them dangling but then do babies tend to push up to try climb out with a footrest? 😅
@Kirsty I would just order a footrest on Amazon, but my nanny said she had that seat and she used some physical therapy/yoga band to make a footrest. My son likes to hang over the side and watch our eager dog! I suppose these kids are just expressing their playfulness early.
The IKEA ones are actually really great and they’re about £15 or £20.
@Coral aw yeah I suppose that could work that’s clever, yeah idk what she’s looking at when she does it there’s no animals back there just draws 🤣
@Alison are there any good ones that fold up?
I've got the Ikea one. I have to always strap the wee man in otherwise he'll try leap over the sides. I actually had one with a footrest before but got rid of it for the Ikea one as he used the footrest to climb out even quicker. He's 15 months. Just something to consider if you have a wild one too 🤣
Facebook marketplace has some good used ones
@Patricia that’s what I though with the footrest… she does like to be on the move! So maybe footrest isn’t a good idea then 😅
@Emma I’ve had a quick look and tbh they’re either not much cheaper or more expensive than the £15 ikea one near me
I got a pricier high chair, but heard great things about the IKEA one. A footrest is critical. You don’t want dangling feet - it’s uncomfortable and doesn’t aid in proper sitting for digestion. Some experts say that footrests also help reduce choking. What you’ll want is a high chair that doesn’t tip easily, and has straps, ideally a 5-point harness. I’m not sure if the IKEA one has straps, but you can also buy an aftermarket harness and install it.
@Bee it does have straps, but not a footrest, can you get a footrest that clips onto any high chair? Like a universal one
Sometimes I feed my son while he’s sitting in his pram before he also goes this. Getting him into the pram is no easy feat either tho 😅
My dad bought our highchair when I was pregnant from an op shop I think? It’s Phil and Teds brand (which is my step dads name and my dads name 🤣) kind of retro looking but my baby does seem to like it. It’s probably old tho
Ours is red and was cheap as chips, the ones on the website now are expensive and not red haha

I have this one BABY JOY 5 in 1 High Chair, Convertible High Chairs for Babies and Toddlers/Booster Seat/Table and Chair Set, Infant Wooden Highchair w/ 5-Point Harness, 4-Position Removable Tray & PU Cushion, Coffee https://a.co/d/7WZa4t5
@Josie it does look cool tbf but yeah little pricey for a high chair! I couldn’t think of feeding her in the pram she makes such a mess 😅🤣
Yes the pram stays outside only now 🤣
@Kirsty They make Antilop specific footrests on Etsy and Amazon, to my understanding!
IKEA .. it’s cheap as chips and has a back rest. Make sure you get the pillow insert too.
@A_M 🌺🌈 yeah it seems to be a highly recommended one. There’s so many out there so I was lost
Tripp trapp from stokke 🤍
@Catalina Tripp Trapp from Stokke is not affordable. It’s definitely an investment, though I heard it’s great. We ended up with the Bugaboo Giraffe, which we love, but it’s also on the higher end. Maybe Facebook Marketplace has them cheaper used?
Sure, you can get one with a backrest. Then she can throw herself over the side instead! I’m just saying that because that’s what my son does. But jokes aside, Ikea has some very cheap and popular ones that have lots of second market accessories as well.
