Car seats

Looking for advice on which car seats are best for premature babies? My little one was born early and only 4lb 5oz, We have a car seat (bababing) with new born insert but I feel my little one look so uncomfortable, he has only been in it twice (once coming home and second to visit parents, max 20mins both times) Looking for recommendations for the best to get? We will need two car seats in the future anyways.

Hi, my little one was around 5lb when coming home, we were recommended the avionaut pixel pro which is made with tiny newborns in mind. He sits in a good position, chin neutral and looks very comfy and safe.

My baby was 4lbs when we left the hospital and we have the Joie i-spin 360 for him 😊 Hospital and us did this with a rolled up blanket for a while to help him a little but my son now doesn't need it and is comfortable as is in the car seat

My little lady was 3lbs 13oz and we have the silvercross dream I size and it’s perfect for her!

@Lauren please don’t recommend this as it’s not safe! In a crash the blanket would compress the same way jackets and snowsuits do!

@Rebecca I genuinely had no idea as the hospital did this when we were discharged and we did it until he was bigger/no longer needed it following their advice. I'm so sorry 😔

Have a look at the Avionaut Pixel Pro. It's meant to be the best fit for tiny ones and has a special insert for small babies. I wish we had it. We had a Cybex Aton and looking back, my tiny baby was swimming in it.

Maxi cosi 360- my littlest was smaller than 4lb in this picture. Lots of support and with the lie flat option means that I’m not concerned that their airway is impeded by their head position.
