Unsettled crying baby

Hi girls I’m a second time mum to a beautiful baby boy. Any suggestions on what I can do he cries non stop or winged and never seems settled. I think he has colic or reflux. I’ve tried him with both infacol and colief but there’s no difference. He’s been sick 3x in his sleep and I am so worried. He constantly is hungry like every hour he wants more. He won’t take a dummy and I really wish he would. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated xxxx

I’m sorry you’re going through this! With my first son we slept him on a boppy in his bassinet with an owlet sock on because it’s not considered safe sleep but it was the only way to help his reflux and allow him to sleep through the night without crying

@Shannon my little girl was pretty colicky too. She was the worst I’ve ever seen. She had really bad stomach aches which is what I believe colic mostly is. Warm baths used to help her if she couldn’t settled down and lights pressure on her belly. I filled a sock with rice and would just barely warm it up and put it on her belly to help her settle. That and noisy car rides. We would crack all the windows just a bit and go on car drives and the noise would settle her down.

@Shannon my baby girl also had reflux and we increased tummy time and got a crib ledge that goes under the mattress and she would sleep slightly propped up so no air or anything got trapped and it helped

Check colic belt out dr browns really helps my boy you can also get gaviscon from gp or if that doesn’t work omeprazole fennel teas can also help every baby is different tho they eventually grow out of it but torture waiting for that to happen good luck mama you’ve got this! Xx

Both my boys had GI upset which they tried to call colic, for different reasons. They were exclusively breastfed so I eliminated the allergens (gluten, soy, dairy, egg, nuts, corn) and that solved it immediately for the first. The second had some relief with elimination diet but turned out his problem was lactase intolerance due to oversupply. He had green frothy stools. I encourage you to speak to your lactation consultant about the problem they are much more helpful than pediatricians (at least in US). My kids are 2.5 & 4 and have no allergies i think they just had a hard time adjusting at first. We did baby led weaning and they didnt have the allergens by mouth until after age one. There is a specific hold that can help with tummy trouble but it’s tough to explain. DM me and i’ll try if you’re interested.

baby rocker or baby wearing. Letting him nap supervised on his tummy on his Bobby or on his tummy on the baby rocker helped as well.
