How to deal with screaming 😩

My little one has started screaming when he’s frustrated/over tired etc. I’m finding it so hard to remain calm as it’s becoming so frequent and it’s SO loud. Is it just a phase? Or is it because he’s not really talking yet? I don’t want to encourage it by having a big reaction?

My little one is the same, I guess they're trying to figure out the world whilst at the same time not being able to express themselves. I can only hope it's a phase 😊

Yes same this stage is very intense and overwhelming then ever before. Just feel like we are not god enough because she gets upset so easily and clingy. I guess I’m looking at maybe simplifying my days so I can be more present to soothe her I think she just wants more mommy time..

Same - definitely a phase (my first did the same to a lesser degree). I go into a weird calm place in my head and just kind of narrate what's happening & try to keep my face calm. Mine won't stop their tantrum / screaming until they're ready so I don't try to stop them as we all just get frustrated..I sit near them and offer my hand (usually refused) then just say things like "I can see you're feeling frustrated, when you're ready for a cuddle you can come here", " let's move you here to keep you safe while you work out the problem". It's mostly to keep me and my 4yo sane, the 1yos obviously don't really understand any of it but I think they find the calm voice and face reassuring and eventually they reach out for a cuddle.
