State disability payment

I had my baby in late July and applied for SDI in July. I checked myEDD and they already calculated the payment amount, but I still haven’t received any payment from EDD yet. I did sign up for direct deposit method. How long will it take to receive payments from EDD? I haven’t received any notice or messages from them, so I assume my case is going on the right track?

abt 2 weeks after being approved!

They send it every two weeks and they will even email you when they send it out .

my edd didnt come in time. i got all my payments, but they were all spread out. dont worry, yours will come!

It took them 5 weeks until I recieved my first Paycheck (with he backpay) and about 3 weeks to approve everything. I cant believe its taken them this long for youe case... that's insane!

And they can’t even verify me so I’m not even able to apply

Most likely if yours is held up this long, it’s a sign your doctors office didn’t verify the birth. I would reach out to your doctor and make sure they did their part of the paperwork.

@Perla Yasmeen 🍐 did you pay into SDI at all in the last 2 years? As an independent contractor that’s 1099, you may only qualify for PFL. SDI requires you having been on W2 at some point in the last 2 years.

@Grace yes go to the EDD website and apply for Disability. You will have need to have paid into SDI insurance through an employer to qualify. I saw you are young so employment history will matter for if you qualify or not.

It took about 3 weeks for me to receive my first payment

Update: i finally got the notices from EDD and got paid today 🎉it’s almost 5 weeks for me. Thank you for all the responses
