Toddler vaginal smell

I have an almost 2 year old girl toddler. At times I go to change her diaper and her vagina stinks. It smells so bad. She doesn’t have rashes or redness if just stinks. I think it could possibly be she not drinking enough water. Does anyone else experience this?

I've never experienced this. Have you spoken to her pediatrician? It could be some sort of bacterial infection

Yeast infection? Does she eat a lot of sugar/carbs? How often are you bathing her? Maybe just let her play in the shower so she’s not sitting in dirty water. . Wish I had more advice.

Are you wiping front to back? I would take her to get check

Yeast infection? Get yourself some yeast salve from Earthley.

@Angelie yes I do wipe front to back.

@Aimee thanks for your feedback. We don't use any bath products besides soap for her body and get out right after.

What does it smell like?

I haven’t experienced this with my daughter. I’d definitely bring it up to the pediatrician ASAP. I wouldn’t try and treat it yourself like someone suggested. Without a test, you don’t know if it’s a yeast or a bacterial infection (or neither). The treatment for a yeast infection can make a bacterial infection worse and vice versa.

Yeast infections don’t produce a foul odor so I think you can rule that out. Vulvovaginitis is common in toddlers and it’s usually from an irritant like soap, bubble baths, sitting in a diaper too long ect. I’m not saying that’s what it is but it does produce odor. If I were you I would be making a ped. Appointment. If there is no noticeable discharge or redness then maybe she just needs to drink more water.
