Travel systems

What travel systems/ prams is everyone going for? Feels like there’s so much choice it’s a minefield! The other day I went to have a look and was set on looking for an ex display oyster 3. Today after having another look around in Smyths I’m now all confused with their much cheaper options, the Zummi Zenith & miniuno cloud 9 for example. Does anyone had any advice or suggestions on what to go for or look out for? The first time we went looking I really liked all of the Venicci models but when I’ve looked again the brakes are quite far inward which I found a little awkward having short legs. I’m 5”3 and my partner is 6”0 our primary want is a handle bar that’s easy to switch heights (ideally with a button in the centre of the bar) which knocks Joie & Nuna out Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated

It’s so hard because everyone’s needs are different! We initially had a hauck travel system for our daughter but the wheel went funny so we bought a graco near 2 me, it’s more bulkier than the first one but I love it and it looks nice! Also has a longer life as it goes upto 22kg I think. We were going to get a double for this one but my daughter is hardly in the pram now and on days we’re doing something she’ll need to go in it we can get a buggy board or I’ll just baby wear! So going to get the carry cot for this one and the car seat that fits in. Also much cheaper than the double I was looking at x

I have the oyster 3 as got it for my now 20, month old, it’s absolutely fab and has an extending handle bar because I wanted one for the same reason! Xx

It depends on so much. We have the Uppababy Vista V2 and the Yoyo2 from first baby, love and use both interchangeably for different reasons. Live London way so don’t really use the car so it was important to make the right buggy choice. Yoyo great for travelling, nursery runs and hopping into the city where it’s not step free, Vista great for forest walks and huge basket so Tesco runs etc. Also consider; can parts be replaced? Could wheels puncture? Good you’ve considered handlebar height as this is a thing. How easy to fold? How heavy? Uppababy has one button extendable handlebar and bassinet removal which is handy. Maybe also go John Lewis so you know what you get at different budgets x

We got an ex display oyster 3 which we did have to take home straight away so we already had the experience of pushing a weighted pram about and it’s so smooth to push, me and my partner are quite fussy but this one ticked all the boxes. Easily adjustable handle, big sturdy wheels and a flat lay down seat. We were originally looking at a Nuna but something wasn’t sitting right with us. We went to a baby show yesterday and saw all the prams in person which made a huge impact on our decision. I personally thought the Venicci looked a little cheap but that’s just our opinion and the handle bar wasn’t comfortable to hold. I’d recommend just seeing them all in person and ‘test drive’ them all to get the feel for what you want.

I think you're going the right way about it, just viewing them, trying them in the shops, repeat visit if you need to. Personally I found the smyths ones felt quite cheap n like they'd break easily with wear, though depends on your budget n maybe I was looking at different models to you. Everyone's needs are different, I'm going to get a cosatto wow 3, they already have black friday prices out. It collapses easily and is relatively compact n will fit in the boot of my husband's aygo x (his car is smaller than mine). Comes with a swivel car seat (a must) and has puncture proof all terrain tires. Not to mention a comfy handle, range of colour options and sensory hoods for little one to be fixated with. Plus all the other features you'd expect in a bundle. I was also briefly looking at mamas n papas flip xt3 and the Joie finiti signature. Good luck with your search x

We went back and forth to look a few times in various places and by the third visit had more of an idea what we liked/didn’t and features we felt important to us. Also I didn’t want to feel rushed into a purchase. We ended up booking a free consultation with mammas and papas and they went through in great detail our shortlist. It was so helpful to have to have someone show you how they all work and they gave really good advice for each one without overselling a particular brand. Definitely would recommend booking a session if you have one near by, I believe John Lewis also offer something similar and you aren’t obligated to purchase if you can then decided to buy cheaper elsewhere so save some pennies. Originally we liked the Oyster and Cybex but ended up with a Mammas & Papas Occaro as when we had all 3 out together felt that was just the best fit for us in the end … Good Luck xx

We got a cosatto giggle, the handle is perfect for me and hubby (5’3 and 6’1) great price which includes car seat, isofix base etc and they come in so many designs! I had one with my son 10 years ago and absolutely loved it so I knew I had to go for the same brand this time around! It’s all down to personal preference, some very popular prams that people love I find quite ugly and flimsy but works for them.
