No harm in trying size 2

My son was born 8lb 13oz and is in size 1 Pampers. Where is it leaking? Make sure the ruffles are in the leg creases and pull outwards rather than tucked in, and make sure it's nice and snug fitting on the lower belly, don't fasten too high up

I had to switch to Millie Moon because my daughter had blow outs in every other diaper we tried. Babies are all built different but diapers are a “this size fits all” sort of thing. Try a different brand!

You can size up yeah. But if you want to guarantee that the poop stays in where it should look into putting a cloth diaper cover over the disposable. We didn’t get any leaks or blowouts in cloth they have real elastics and not the thin cheap stringy ones on disposables.

My baby was born 7.9lbs and wore newborns until like 2ish months

For longer stints like during night time or before a nap, try putting a reusable diaper over the disposable diaper. It’s also handy to use nightgowns for jammies since it makes diaper changes easier.

I’d try a size up (or different brand - we loves Sainsbury’s when he was small) - it will depend entirely how your babies weight is distributed. My baby was born 9lb 11oz and fitted in size 1’s but he was super long and slim so if your baby is shorter and a bit chunkier it may be time to size up. I’ve never found the weight guides on the front of the packs particularly accurate x

Never had a problem with Lidl ones. My LO leaks in all other brands

Im having The same problem that nappies are leaking but I’m thinking it may be because they are too big (using size 1 he’s currently 10 days old but very thin so I’m thinking maybe he needs newborn size??)

When my boy was that old he was leaking through because size 1 was too big & changed to size 0 x

I never went by the weight for sizing of the diaper. They were soooo off for my son as he got older. However at not even 8 pounds, he might still need newborn diapers. It's worth a try. Try newborns and try size 2! And don't forget to point his penis down as you strap the diaper!

Thank you all 🙏 Willy is down, ruffles are out 👍🏽 I’ve tried first size and they are marking him and too tight. I’ve ordered some Sainsbury’s nappies so will start there. Not heard about the cloth nappy over the top though that’s good to know thanks! X

i didn’t like huggies or pampers i LOVE rascals though! haven’t had leaks with them like i did with others

Sainsbury’s in my experience were terrible, the worst of them all, only ones he leaked with. Tesco’s newborn are decent and asdas little angels, I’ve just got some size 2 boots own brand and I like these also

I’ve just got the boots size 1 and had no leaks yet 🤞 no one ever seems to talk about these ones!

@V 🌼 I find them very similar to Pampers in terms of structure and size, the second most expensive compared to Pampers but think they’re worth it
