Baby Wipes

Obviously I know at the beginning cotton balls/pads and water is best for cleaning bub but after that, what wipes are the best? I wanted to use water wipes but they seem so expensive??

Aldi wipes and nappies have been awesome for us and very affordable 🤗

Water wipes are pricey but they are worth it imo. Used them for 2 years and counting with my first and we've barely had any nappy rashes. When we have tried other brands he's come out more sore but it could've been coincidence. You can bulk buy on amazon, or we have a Costco membership and get them from there if that's an option. The other option is to use reusable wipes at home and wipes when out and about which would help the cost element 🥰

We use Aldi wipes and have done since the day my daughter was born. Also used Asda, Morrisons & pampers but found Aldi to be the best. Done babies will have reactions with certain wipes so I wouldn’t stock up too much x

@Elly I checked in Costco but it was like 6 packs for £20!

I'm sure you get more in a box than that 🤔 won't lie, a friend has been picking ours up for us for the past few months while I've been pregnant so it's been a while I've seen the price myself 😅 I do think they're good though, they feel thicker than cheaper wipes as well. Tbh whatever you buy, it's not a bad idea to just buy a couple packs to see how your little one gets on with them before bulk buying. Same with nappies. You can always try a couple of brands before settling on something!

I would highly recommend investing in reusable wipes. We have saved so much money not buying disposable wipes with our first and using reusable ones instead. And they are much more gentle on their skin. We just used water.

Water wipes are my go to! My girl at 17 months has barely had a nappy rash. We did use cotton wool/water to start but actually used these early on at the hospital for the meconium/big poos and midwives do say you can use as they almost the same as water/cotton wool, it definitely helps to use for a proper clean as well as cotton wool. We also used reusable cotton wipes at the start which were good. Had one colour for face wipe and one for nappy. Rinse and wash. But do find when really messy wipes help. I get water wipes in bulk from Amazon - got a special/subscription price which helps. The supermarket price is expensive and they are thin (but sturdy) so find I use a few. Nappy changes do get less frequent though compared to newborn so you don’t go through as quick. I’d get some water wipes as they will help to start and then maybe move to something else and can see how baby reacts etc.

Absolutely water wipes! They are the only wipes my 2.5 year old has ever been able to use. Very eczema friendly

I have just had the idea that i might bring a small flask into the hospital and have warm water in that so i can use cotton wool balls and not have to keep getting warm water x

Water wipes for us. I haven’t actually considered any other wipes/ don’t care about the price. My wee girl has never had a nappy rash in her life (other than one nappy change where I tried a pampers nappy, never again!) and I think it’s largely down to the wipes. you get what you pay for x

We loved water wipes and would bulk buy them on offer. Now my girl is nearly 2 we've moved onto Lidl wipes which are surprisingly good. We're going to start the baby on water wipes and see how they go with the Lidl version once they're a bit bigger.
