Nanny share experiences
Hi mamas! Our household is considering a nanny and we just met another new mommy also interested in nanny share. Can anyone share their experience with nanny share or tips they have for going about the process? My husband and I have a care.com account. I am also considering posting in the Oakland mommy Facebook group (still pending approval for me to join) but open to any suggestions / tips. Thanks!
-Background check nanny (Livescan, criminal and references) - Families align on work duties (what is nanny expected to do outside of care for kids?) - Families align on discipline and be clear with nanny how they redirect/address undesired behavior - Families agree to make decisions together, then communicate to nanny (families benefit from being a united front) - Written agreement of employment expectations, benefits/TO and pay rate (work this out with the other family before onboarding nanny) We had an amazing experience. We found a family and managed the nanny as a team. Nanny was great, understood what we wanted, and we made sure to respect her needs and then some (bonuses, small treats and gifts to express our appreciation). It stopped when she travelled to her home country but we all stay in contact. Good luck!
