Well, no matter what they smell of they're all made of plastic and have all kinds of chemicals in them 🤷🏼♀️ unless anyone knows any different, I don't see how any of the supermarket ones would be worse than the rest. If it bothers you there are "better" nappies out there that are plant based (eg. Kit & kin) but they're very expensive
@Incognito my LO is 4 weeks old and seems to be getting on well with them, no rashes at all and minimal blow outs :) @Katie I didn't say it bothered me, I think these nappies are great, just I've never bought other brands so don't know if the smell is to be expected or not. I know that formula is highly regulated so little difference in brands, I wasn't sure if it was a similar case with nappies.
We use reusables for this reason as nappies all have chemicals and other crazy stuff in them.
Hey, I don’t use nappies that contain alcohol or plastic and unfortunately most nappies do, including main brand ones like pampers or supermarket brands. We use pura nappies which are good for baby’s skin (never had nappy rash), and his skin won’t absorb any microplastics. They are more expensive, which is really, really off putting, but we saved on baby formula so we could afford the added expense. They’re round £5 a pack if you subscribe and save on the pura site
Thanks @Parris I'll definitely take a look at those 😊
We use cloth reusables they don’t have a smell and they don’t stink up the house - I do a prewash daily. If you wanted more eco nappies you might have to start buying them from Ama (like bamboo ones) but then it’s going to be trial and error - I couldn’t be bothered w that trial and error myself so I just jumped to cloth. The baby rooms? At the shopping centre? REEK of uriny disposables I can’t stand that smell
With my first born I only used pampers. I’ve never used the aldi newborn nappies, but I was thinking to try them for my second (due soon). Has your baby had any reaction to the nappy?
