Will be 4-5 minimum before I forward face my son x
Mine is nearly 2 and still rear facing. I plan to keep him rear facing as long as possible x
we won't until at least 4 or 5 xx
Not going to forward face yet. Too young.
Okay thanks cos my baby is 10.7 kills now o was wondering when it was safe to front face x
Same as the others, she will be rear facing for as long as possible but definitely 5 minimum!
Thanks everyone xx
My almost 5 year old will be rear facing for a good few years yet. He's got a special seat to allow him to do so.
Law states 15 months here, road safety and car seat ppl would recommend until at least 4 years. Tho it is on ur car seat what u can afford and your child on what u want to do.
My daughters just turned at 4yo because she reached the height limit on the rear facing seats we had
The car seat we have is the new i size one and it states on the seat from 15 months to forward face. I've just checked and the car seat has an extended rear-facing mode up to 105cm (approx 4years)
@Baled Potato what wouldn’t be safe?
recommended to wait until 5

If the infant bucket seat carrier is too heavy, you can move up to the next stage and stay rear facing. In the US, the next stage is called a convertible seat because it can convert from rear facing to forward facing. It stays installed in the car. As others have said, rear facing as long as possible is scientifically safest regardless of what your local laws allow
@Baled Potato you're welcome 😊
Between 5-6 years old
My almost four year old is still rear facing and will be until she maxes out either height or weight for it. 🙂
My daughter is 3 and is still rear facing. I got a car seat the can rear face up to 50lbs because I know extended rear facing is safest. She is currently 44lbs and I am hoping we make it to 4 years old before she hits that 50lbs mark because that is when her skeleton will be better equipped to handle the forces of a crash should one happen while she is facing forwards.
My oldest is nearly 5, still happily RF and has at least another couple of years in his current seat so won't be turning him for a while yet. Safest option is to RF as long as possible, then switch to a HBB (ie with adult seatbelt not harness). Minimum recommended age for that is 5½-6yo, but the older the better
I will be rear facing for as long as he fits in his rear facing seat for, hoping for at least 5 or 6
Just before he turned 6
Not planning to until 7, but 4 minimum x
The spine doesn’t start to calcify(hold together strongly) until 4-6 years. So as long as possible
Current goal is 4. We'll reevaluate at 4 based on how long and tiny he is then .... He'll be 2 in June.... Hes a tiny 20 pounds
@Baled Potato thanks xx
@Sophie thank you for this xx
@Megan thank you for this xx
Right before 2. He would scream and scream because he wanted to see me. I know it’s not advised to do that anymore, but he has a secured car seat and we have an SUV so I feel he is safe. ❤️
