Are your blood pressure levels under control (despite being high). Because you do still have the right to choose a natural birth it will just have to be in hospital under high risk and you'll be observed closely. I had an emergency c section. The theatre was super calm, they go through everything checked over 3 times to check I was numb. Got my consent to do everything. I'd suggest music to be played. Don't look in light they can act as mirrors and you may not want to potentially see the other side (it's not that bad if you've seen one born every minute you know what's happening). They can get baby out within 27 seconds if they need to. You'll have some tugging but beyond that not a lot. I opted for the sepository which is a slow release antinflamitory. They'll get you up out of bed once you're not numb. The first steps are certainly tender ones. If you have family who can support when you're at home it's really good. I was very bruised so I needed help with a lot of things
My sections were lovely experiences, very calm and no trauma. Good luck! Recovery wise: Get moving. Being active reduces clot risks and quickens recovery. Take your meds on time, set timers and don’t allow yourselves to forget that first week. Senna tablets are a good idea. The meds do their job but they block you up a bit which is an avoidable discomfort. Big knickers. I got M&S full briefs in a size bigger.
When you come home eventually, please don’t hesitate to ask for help or just accept everyone doing everything for you because you need time to heal. I was up and doing day to day things straight after hospital and it’s prolonged my recovery so just allow people around you to help you when you need it x
5 weeks pp after a c section here and it was a lovely experience overall. Recovery wise.. rest, rest and more rest! Yes get up and move about but build it up slowly. Listen to your body and take all the support you can from partner or family. If you over do it your body will definitely let you know. Keep ontop of medication and stay well hydrated and get your favourite foods/snacks in as you may not have a big appetite so have things you know you’ll enjoy. Big knickers are also a must ideally cotton to make sure you get good air to your wound. Also ensure you don’t get too sweaty to avoid infection.
You got this sweetheart! If someone can be there first few weeks to help out is great, if not try to prepare some food in advance and keep in the freezer. As for yourself early days there’s not much you can do. Keep the area clean with only running water. And then get some biooil to help with massaging the area once incision has healed and doctors allow you. You can always message me if you have questions xx
