Puppy scratched my 10 month old.

My puppy likes to get my son’s attention through the playpen. It’s so hard to keep my son from crawling towards the playpen fence to the point that my puppy paws through it and has now left scratch marks on my son. I know this is innocent as neither of them know any better but how do I prevent this? Ive been teaching my puppy leave it and he does good if im staring right at him but the moment i step away he goes at it again. Im by myself at night with them both, so it’s the safest way to have them, while i clean up the kitchen at the end of the night but now it’s not feeling so safe? I only noticed because my son screamed and when i checked him he had scratch marks 😕 Any suggestions?

Maybe get a crate so when you need time to do tasks around the house the puppy is in his own space. Especially when you can’t have eyes on the both of them.

Definitely get a crate. It’s honestly the safest option until the puppy learns boundaries and even after tbh

A crate for sure is the best option. You could also try placing a blanket over it so the puppy and your son can't see eachother needed.

Nails clip them nails their like razor blades at that age. I’d personally start create traing him but you can’t leave him in there all day. So it will be one task on let the dog out and for fourth
