Same as above, in a delivery room on the delivery ward.
We didn’t arrive till 12pm and we were given a bed, gown to get changed in and I was laying down there basically until the midwife came did my obs, explained what was going to happen. Anaesthetist then came and signed consent and then we were waiting. I had 2 women ahead of me and it was quite quick.
Got changed and checks etc in a consult room, then was in a waiting room most the time by the wards. Was only us and the couple who was before us in there. Then walked to theatre.
In a room
We were told to come in for 10am and to fast from 2am. We arrived and they brought us into an open room with two beds. We stayed in that room with another couple until they called us down to the theatre at 4pm as there was delays
I had a shared room with 3 other ladies we had curtains around us but only a chair to sit on. The other 3 had beds but I didn’t 😅and I was last so waiting the longest 🤷🏽♀️
First time I had a bed (but think they were still using Covid rules then), the second time it was a waiting room
I had a bed and my own private room which is the room I returned to after my C-section and stayed over night in. I went in for 7.30am, was second on the list and went into theatre around 11am
Went in, got given a bed in a ward of 3 other ladies, got given a gown to get changed. Midwife came, went through birth plan answered any questions, anaesthetist came and went through her side of the job and answered any questions (I asked if I could have my hand numbed for cannula). Then the surgeon came and did the same. Luckily I ended up being first into surgery. The midwife and my husband rolled me on my bed up to outside theatre where I hopped off just outside and walked in.
I was given a delivery room to change, be monitored etc. Then walked to the theatre when they were ready for us. Not sure if all hospitals do this though.
