WTH is pelvic pressure?!

I always hear women saying they feel “pelvic pressure”. Since my 2nd trimester I have felt what I would call “pubic bone pain” lol! It literally feels like someone punched my pubic bone area and it’s sore. Even putting pressure on it with my hands make it feel even more sore just like a bruise. Is that pelvic pressure?? Because it doesn’t really feel like “pressure”.

To me when I say pelvic pressure it’s cuz I literally feel him pushing down there. Like I go pee and I feel like his head is gonna pop out if I pee hard enough. Like a poop trying to come out when you’re constipated haha. But I’ve also had pelvic and public bone pain this whole pregnancy and it’s exactly as you describe and even rubbing it just sends more of a sharp pain than relief

Ok so i thought i was the only one!!? Mine usually goes away when I'm up and active in the morning but the minute i lay down and i get up to use the bathroom through the night its horrible and really sore

So to minimize the pain I'll put a pillow/ body pillow between my legs

I am getting soreness on my pubic bone, too, as well as the muscle “next” to my pubic bone (I guess, my groin?) I notice the pain/soreness is worse if I don’t wear my belly support band. Especially cause I’m on my feet a lot at work 😮‍💨

I feel pelvic pain.. I’m 35wks, & feel like my pelvic area is always sore. Walking and stretching do help tho.

I was told I have pelvic girdle pain and was given a band that basically squeezes your hips together and takes the pressure off the SI joint ive been feeling worlds better

Pregnancy causes an excess release od the hormone relaxin, which specifically targets your pelvic area when youre pregnant to prepare your body for labor. It's basically the hormone that tells your joints ligaments and muscle to relax, and helps your pelvis to stretch in preparation for your baby to descend into the birth canal. A lot of the time though because of the pressure from your uterus on your pelvis mixed with the excess relaxin, your joints ligaments and muscles get severely inflamed which causes pain and pressure in that area. Physical therapy and pelvic floor strengthening helps a lot too
