Running

Hi, I am currently 6 weeks + 2 with my first, I have ran all my life but since I got pregnant I feel so exhausted even just setting off and my legs feel like dead weights, does it get easier going into the second trimester? Any tips 🙏

My advice... don't pressure yourself. You might feel better in the second trimester, but don’t obsess over what you can’t do anymore. Find alternatives in the meantime, and don’t beat yourself up if you can’t do anything for weeks. Other times will come—maybe during pregnancy, or maybe only after. I spent most of my first trimester in bed due to a lack of energy and horrible nausea. Then, in the second trimester, I was able to go back to lifting weights again, but I stopped in the third. I do walk a lot, though—on average, maybe 10,000 steps a day. I'm convinced that after birth and recovery, we’ll get back to our workouts. But right now, it's simply not my priority. And it should never be something that adds emotional stress during pregnancy.

First trimester is hard but keep moving and active! Running is not as recommended for pelvic floor but you can do so much more, even 20 minutes a day! Just keep the routine going will help with the delivery as well!

I ran while expecting my second, third, fourth, and fifth. During the first trimester, I was exhausted, and had horrible morning sickness, so I didn’t workout as much. Once I hit the second trimester, I was able to get back into working out more consistently. The first trimester was always the hardest for me.

I feel the same, I am continuing running but at very low speed and super shorter distances. I have been told it gets better post 1st trimester

I got into running before I fell pregnant but I was too fatigued to keep it up in my first trimester. Now I'm 18 weeks and got loads more energy so back to running! I'm sure you'll be the same 🙂

I used to run but hated it while pregnant, I went to spin classes instead for my whole pregnancy right to the end.
